What we do

Why India's Top B-Schools Choose This Programme

Chosen by premier B-schools across India, this flagship Indiahikes programme transforms leadership theory into lived experience.

Over several days in the outdoors, management students move away from structured classrooms into dynamic, real-world environments where collaboration is not a concept but a necessity. Teams navigate uncertainty, solve problems, and make decisions collectively—learning the true essence of shared leadership.

Every challenge on the trek brings lessons in communication, empathy, and resilience. Through reflection and group experiences, students develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others. They return with the interpersonal awareness, adaptability, and confidence needed to lead with clarity and purpose in the real world.

"The programme prepares students to become a positive part of society. They experience and internalize leadership skills, teamwork, negotiation skills and conflict management skills in this program. Not just that they learn to put their personal goals aside for the team's outcome."
- Prof. Sushil Kumar, IIM Lucknow

Did you know?
IIM Indore was the first to adopt our programme in 2011. Soon after, IIM Lucknow, IIM Bangalore, GIM and multiple other institutions followed, setting a new benchmark for outdoor leadership learning in management education.

Why IIM Bangalore values this programme

As shared by Professor Sourav Mukherji,
Dean, Faculty of IIM Bangalore:

"There is a strong need to bring in the experiential component where students learn about skills, values, and attitudes. This kind of innovative programme helps students not only learn about leadership and teamwork, but they are actually involved in tasks and doing things related to them. Values and attitudes are very difficult to inculcate in the classroom.

Hence, experiential courses like this very well fit into our mission. When I listen to the students who have attended this programme, they were talking about a transformative experience, which I hope they will carry with them throughout their lives. I would like to have as many students as possible sign up for these programmes.

How can I bring this programme to my college?

Start by speaking to your professor, programme coordinator, or Head of Department/Institution who can bring the programme to your college. Once there is interest, get in touch with us (via email or the form link provided) to schedule a meeting with our team. We can also help you begin with a trial CLP batch so that faculty and students experience the programme first-hand before deciding to integrate it more formally into the curriculum.
As a college, how do we integrate this programme academically?
Icon - orange arrow pointing down
The Collaborative Leadership Programme is designed to complement academic learning, especially in subjects such as Organisational Behaviour, Decision-Making Sciences, Leadership Studies, and Team Dynamics. Colleges typically integrate CLP as a credit-based experiential module, a capstone project, or as part of leadership/management development programmes.
How do we prepare participants for the trek?
Icon - orange arrow pointing down
CLP is not a leisure trek—it is a demanding, immersive leadership experience in the outdoors. Participants must be prepared for both physical and mental challenges. While trekking, they will need to communicate effectively, solve problems collaboratively, and work towards group objectives. Unlike regular Indiahikes treks, CLP expeditions follow a DIY format—participants take responsibility for many tasks like setting up camps, cooking, and managing resources. These challenges are intentionally designed to bring out leadership and teamwork skills.
Can I join the programme as an individual?

At present, CLP treks are conducted in partnership with colleges and are not open for individual sign-ups. However, we are working towards launching an open programme for individuals in the near future. If you’re interested, you can share your details with us to be notified once registrations open.
