We know that stepping into the outdoors can feel overwhelming as there are weather shifts, new environments and so many variables beyond our control. But that’s exactly why we’re here.
At InSOUL, safety is a pillar, it’s a deep commitment to the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of every child, educator, professional and team member on our programmes.
Before any trek begins, we conduct detailed risk assessments based on the specific route, terrain, and time of year. We share clear, transparent safety protocols with institutions well in advance so there are no surprises.
Every trek is led by a highly trained team. Our Trek Leaders and Facilitators go through a rigorous 6–8 month training process, and continue to receive technical and seasonal upskilling. Many are certified Wilderness First Responders (WFR), trained to respond to emergencies in remote environments. They carry medical kits, emergency gear, and communication tools like walkie-talkies on every trek.
But beyond logistics and certifications, our facilitators are also deeply attuned to children and young adults. They’re trained to notice when someone’s struggling, offer the right kind of support, and create an atmosphere of trust and care.
We stay in close coordination with your institution’s team and share regular updates, clear lines of communication, and region-specific protocols. From carefully selected basecamps to insurance coverage, we’ve built a system where everyone can feel safe, supported, and free to grow.
Because when safety is held with care, learning unfolds with ease.
